Q Racing/Peak Performance 240SX S14 Update 09/01/06 |
|
Robbie appears to have finally found his groove in the racecar in Seattle, Washington for Round 5 of the Formula D 2006 Championship Series. Robbie's comeback was cut short in the first round of eliminations against Vaughn Gitten Jr. However, Round 5 would prove critical because it put Robbie and the Peak Performance/Q Racing 240SX S14 closer to getting back to seeded status. Robbie is currently ranked 18 for the season with two more events to go. Having tasted the sweetness of victory once again, Robbie Nishida
and the Peak Performance Team have been putting in the extra effort to
prep the Peak Performance/Q Racing 240SX S14 for Round 6 at Air Force Reserve Wall Raceway in New Jersey on September 9, 2006.
On August 31st, 2006, the Peak Performance/Q Racing 240SX S14 was invited to the D1 vs NASCAR "Drift vs Grip" Exhibition at Irwindale Raceway, California. Kasey Kahne of NASCAR fame assembled some of the finest NASCAR drivers in the world to "compete" against some of the best and brightest D1 Grand Prix stars from Japan. The Peak Performance/Q Racing 240SX S14 was piloted by Chris Cook from ShiftIntoGear.com. Chris, being a full-time race instructor, felt right at home behind the wheel of the car. While the rest of the NASCAR guys spent most of their time driving on the "inside" (slower) portion of the track, Chris Cook was confident enough with the Peak Performance/Q Racing 240SX S14 to complete the full-course. It was a great show put on by a great bunch of guys. Be sure to catch it on Speedvision or ESPN2 soon!
